Portchester Crematorium
About Us
The Portchester Crematorium is owned and operated by authorities in the Portsmouth and Fareham area. The brick building with columns and cloistered courtyards opened in 1958.
The South chapel has seating for up to 80 people, and the North chapel can seat up to 40. Adjoining these are waiting rooms and areas for floral tributes to be viewed. For the service, an organist is available or you may bring CD or mp3 music.
There are two Gardens of Remembrance around the crematorium, which include beautiful mature trees, and planted flower beds, a waterfall and pond. The gardens are open during daylight hours every day, and make an ideal place for the scattering your loved one's ashes. However, please note that the Portchester Crematorium has decided not to use memorial plaques in the gardens to keep an uncluttered appearance. Instead, fresh cut flowers (without plastic wrap or pottery containers) may be left in the place of scattering.
